Stay on the Banks of Europe’s Last Wild River
The Vjosa is Europe’s last major free-flowing river — 272 kilometers of turquoise water, white limestone boulders, and wild mountain landscapes flowing untouched from Greece to the Adriatic Sea. In 2023, it became Europe’s first Wild River National Park, declared right here in Tepelenë at the Ali Pasha Castle.
Panoramic View House overlooks the Vjosa from our hilltop balcony. Walk 15 minutes to Ali Pasha’s Bridge to swim in the river during summer. The water is crystal clear and refreshingly cold — a truly unforgettable experience.
For adventure seekers, rafting trips on the Vjosa are available from Përmet, with Class II-III rapids through stunning canyons. Avni can help arrange rafting, kayaking, and other river activities for our guests.
